Vaibhav Suryavanshi once again proved to be the biggest hero for Rajasthan Royals against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2026 Eliminator. The teenage sensation played a fearless knock of 97 runs in just 29 balls as RR defeated SRH by 47 runs to book a place in IPL 2026 Qualifier 2.

SRH bowlers had no answer to Vaibhav’s ferocious hitting as the RR opener’s consistent batting kept fans on the edge of their seats throughout his innings at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. There were 12 sixes and 5 fours in his innings.
During the match, the cameras repeatedly caught Kavya Maran getting tense and emotional in the stands as the match was slowly slipping away from Sunrisers Hyderabad. Those reactions soon went viral on social media, with fans sharing memes and clips online.

But after SRH’s crushing defeat against RR in the eliminator, Kavya’s gesture towards Vaibhav impressed everyone. The SRH owner walked up to the RR youngster near the boundary ropes, shook his hand and spent a few moments talking to him after his unforgettable innings.
One of the highlights of their touching conversation came when Vaibhav touched Kavya’s feet as a sign of respect. Kavya then hugged Kishori warmly and the heartwarming scene instantly went viral on social media platforms and became one of the most memorable moments of the season.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi again created history in IPL 2026
Meanwhile, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is doing incredible things in IPL 2026. The 15-year-old has now hit 65 sixes this season, the most in a single edition by any player in IPL history. He broke the old record of Chris Gayle, who had hit 59 sixes in IPL 2012.

The young batsman made another record during the eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He equaled the fastest half-century scored in IPL playoff history with his half-century in 16 balls against SRH. Former CSK batsman Suresh Raina had made this record in IPL 2014.
Vaibhav has hit 10 or more sixes in an innings four times in his IPL career, which is the joint most with Chris Gayle. Additionally, the left-handed batsman has become the first batsman to hit more than 10 sixes in an innings thrice in an IPL season.
The RR youngster has also become the highest uncapped run-scorer in IPL history, surpassing Yashasvi Jaiswal’s previous record of 625 runs in the 2023 season. Vaibhav has so far scored 680 runs in the ongoing IPL 2026 at a tremendous strike rate of 242.86.
