Karun Nair cleaned for 4 ball duck

The 33-year-old Indian team returned to the team after 8-plas years in the ongoing Test series against England after his frequent demonstrations in domestic cricket.

He came out to bat after dismissing the skipper Shubman Gill and was unable to stay in the middle for a very long time. On the sixth ball of the 105th over, Ben Stokes bowled an off-stump outsinger outsinger for Karun Nair.

The Indian batsman went for a drive, but he was not completely on his shot and hit the ball towards a short cover, where Oli Pope dives the entire length on his left and grabbed a completely surprising grip with both hands. Nair looked disappointed after his return failed, and he went back to the hut.

“He wanted to play a cover drive. Dangerous thing to do at the beginning of his innings. He was better that he slipped into that delivery,” Sanjay Manjrekar said commenting on Gehotstar.

Fans cruelly trolled Karun Nair for their failure:

Makarand Weingankar, a pre-cricket administrator, slammed Nair to play a poor shot, which led to his dismissal. He said:

“Both Karun Nair and Shardul Thakur were a bundle of veins. Karun’s grip was fantastic, but it was a bad shot due to his high concern.

Veteran cricketer commentator Harsha Bhogle also expressed disappointment on Nair’s flop show on his return. He said:

“What rides through this game. The great pleasure of seeing Rishabh Pant produces the hundred, after which the return of Karun Nair is infinitely sad.”

Apart from Nair, young batsmen Sai Sudrasana Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had a new face in a new Test after the retirement of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, and he also fell for a 4-chandel duck while batting at number 3. The pair’s failure may have disappointed the team management led by Gautam Gambhir.
