After a brilliant start to Delhi Capitals’ innings with the bat, they would have given themselves every chance to win the match where the opposition was chasing a mammoth target of 265 runs in 20 overs. However, it looked to be an easy task for the PBKS openers.
Riding on a brilliant start from Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya, Punjab Kings were on top of the Delhi Capitals bowling deck in the powerplay, scoring almost 20 runs per over. Shreyas Iyer tried to take advantage of this and continued the attack in the middle overs.
Karun Nair ends DC’s hopes of victory over PBKS by taking two wickets of Shreyas Iyer
Delhi Capitals substitute fielder Karun Nair dismissed Shreyas Iyer twice in the space of just three balls. No one would have imagined such a disturbance in that dugout of Delhi Capitals.
Shreyas was already striking with great confidence, but when Vipraj placed one just out of his reach, he struggled to clear the field at long off and Karun Nair, running in, missed a very easy chance as the ball slipped out of his hands.
In the very next over, Shreyas performed brilliantly and hit the first four out of the ground. Kuldeep backed himself on the second ball and Shreyas didn’t get the height he wanted as he gave another easy chance to Karun Nair, who left it to long on for the second time.
