33-year-old India National Cricket Team batsman Karun Nair has rejected his comparison with OD Skipper and Modern-Day Great, Rohit Sharma.
Karun Nair said that he should not be compared to Rohit Sharma as the latter is a legend of the game, and he is starting in his international career.
Karun Nair failed to return to India
After continuous performance in domestic cricket for Vidarbha, Nair staged his return to India after eight years. Karun Nair was a man on a mission as he demonstrated incredible batting performances in the formats and attracted the attention of the selectors.

His domestic cricket masterclass was ignored as he first signed an Indian Premier League (IPL) deal with Delhi Capital (DC) and then received his India recall for a tour of England.
Nair, India’s second triple Centurion in the Test, broke a brilliant 204 in a tour match against England Lions in Canterbury and started a tour of England on an outstanding note.
But as the main series began, their struggles began, and he managed to score 205 runs in 8 innings only on an average of 25.62, and the method of their dismissal also came under investigation.

It would be unfair to compare this with legend – Karun Nair
In addition to his bad outing, Karun Nair made headlines for his look. With helmet, Nair’s body structure and batting trend looked somewhat similar to Rohit Sharma, fans pointing to equality on social media platforms.
When asked about this in a conversation with Sports Yaari, Nair said that he feels better than a legend like Rohit Sharma, but felt it is not right to compare. He said:
“Everyone looks at everything these days visiting social media, but you know that Rohit Sharma is a legend of the game, and I really don’t know what to say, it is good to see, but I would not like to compare myself with someone who is a legend of the game. It would be unfair that I am comparing my career, I am just starting my career.”

I was really batting well throughout the series – Nair
In another conversation with PTI, Karun Nair expressed his disappointment when he was not able to convert his debut into a big score. He said:
“I was batting really well throughout the series and I was starting in most games. But I was not able to change it, which was more disappointing for me to someone else. A lesson that I refused is making sure that I convert the beginning that I get. I have talked to many people, and I am going to work very soon.”
Nair further stated that he was proud to be part of the Indian team, which attracted the series in England and credited head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill to create a good atmosphere.
“Many teams have not gone to England and have leveled the series in five tests. I am proud to be part of this amazing team,” he said.
He said, “The best thing was that the message was clear. We showed that we never gave up, and the attitude always fought. You could see it on the field,” he said that
