Following shocking allegations, the BCCI was forced to form a commission led by former Chief Justice YV Chandrachud to investigate the case.

The committee investigated the allegations leveled by Prabhakar and released conclusions in April 2000. Prabhakar was slammed to wait 3 to 6 years after alleged incidents to make the case public. In addition, he failed to name the alleged bread and did not give any supporting evidence, and his allegations were found factually inconsistent.

In 2000, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and BCCI anti -corruption officer, K.K. Madhavan further interrogated and submitted a report on 1 November 2000, in which Kapil Dev did not find any reliable evidence connecting any match-fixing or bribe. The veteran all -rounder was given a clean chit in the case, and the case was closed.

Ask all journalists, where is the file of match fixing – Kapil Dev

In an interview with Insidesport, Yograj mentioned how Kapil, Mohammad Azharuddin, and other match-fixing scams were involved in the scam and demanded that the case file be reopened. He said:

“Ask all the journalists, where is the match -fixing file that is lying in the Supreme Court closed … Do you know anything about it? Do you know anything about it? I am telling you the question, ask the question. Do you know that all were caught in match fixing? First Kapil Dev’s name came, then Azharuddin’s name came, then you will stop it.”

There are many prominent legends – Yogaj Singh

Yograj Singh further said that the file will not be opened again as many legends will roll the heads. The former Indian player also recalled how a friend of his, who was a journalist, was once threatened. He explained in detail:

“No. Why? There are many prominent legends. I have told you what is the truth and what is a lie. Why don’t you do this? I have said it many times. We have Mr. Luthra. He is a journalist. He is a journalist. He was my best friend. We used to talk a lot. We used to talk and said that people had come to break their house and set fire.

“I said, are you afraid of these things? You are afraid that they will say something to your family, they will burn your office. They have turned it into a goon here. So people are scared.”
