The 34-year-old top-order Tom Bruce, who is a pre-modern-day Great Kane Williamson, has left the New Zealand National Cricket Team and joined a new team.
Tom Bruce has joined the Scotland National Cricket Team and will be seen playing for his new team in the Cricket World Cup League 2 matches in Canada Leg.
Former team partner of Kane Williamson, Tom Bruce played 17 T20I for New Zealand.
Tom Bruce received his New Zealand T20I call-up after his impressive performance with the bat for the central districts in the super smash.

He started his T20I under the leadership of Kane Williamson at the series opening clash against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team in Napier on January 03, 2017.
Tom Bruce’s last appearance for Blackcaps came on February 02, 2020, against the India National Cricket Team in the T20I match in Mount Maunaganui.
Overall, he portrayed New Zealand in 17 T20I matches and scored 279 runs at an average of 18.60 and a strike rate of 122.36 with two half -centuries.
Now, Tom Bruce has qualified to play for Scotland due to his Edinburgh -born father, who represented the development side of Scotland in 2016.

In an official statement issued by Cricket Scotland, Tom Bruce stated that there is a “long Scottish history” within his family, and he is excited to represent Scotland after playing for New Zealand five years ago. He said:
“There is a long Scottish history within my family and I know they will feel incredibly proud that I am representing Scotland on the world stage. I have been sufficiently lucky to play for New Zealand five years ago, and I want to continue to showcase my skills on the world stage, and help the Scotland team to achieve success, as I am able to achieve success.
“I was summarized in the setup in 2016, and it was a terrible experience. I played with the current group of Scotland players and played with lots, and it has been great after their development through years and I am keen to join them again.
“For me, I want to help the team play some consistent quality cricket in size or form in any way and eventually help us to the World Cup.”

Scotland’s men’s head coach Dug Watson also expressed enthusiasm on Tom Bruce joining the team and labeled him as a world -class cricketer, who brings a pile of experience on the table. He said:
“I am very excited about Tom joining the group, not only he is a world -class cricketer, he brings full experience, he has played 50 overs and T20 cricket.
“He is going to add a large -scale value to both on the field and out of the field in the years, and I am eager to get it between the group, and I am sure he will fit perfectly well.”
