Former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has unveiled his dream Indian white-ball XI, comprising legendary icons and modern-day superstars. Kane Williamson’s dream white ball XI highlighting India’s rich talent has now gone viral on social media.

Williamson has chosen former explosive opener Virender Sehwag and current aggressive opener Rohit Sharma as his openers. Known for his fearless hitting and explosive starts, Sehwag played an important role in India’s 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup victories.

Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, is one of India’s most prolific batsmen and is the leading run-scorer in T20Is and the fourth-highest run-scorer in ODIs. The Kiwi icon has selected his close friend Virat Kohli at number 3. Kohli, who was known as one of the greatest chasers in cricket history, has scored over 18,000 runs in ODIs and T20Is, providing consistency and firepower to the lineup.

Williamson included Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar at number 4 in his dream white-ball XI. The great batsman has played only one T20I for the Men in Blue, but his 18,426 ODI runs remain an unmatched record in this format.

Veteran all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is at number 5 in New Zealand’s middle order. Yuvraj has played an important role in the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup. He also won the Player of the Tournament award in 2011. He was one of the greatest all-rounders India has ever produced.

Suryakumar Yadav finds place in Kane Williamson’s dream Indian white-ball eleven

India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has secured the No. 6 spot in Williamson’s ultimate dream Indian white-ball XI. Williamson has given the No. 7 spot to legendary wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni, who led India to the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy.

Dhoni will provide experience, leadership and finishing skills to the former New Zealand captain’s dream India XI. For the bowling attack, the Black Caps star chose current Indian superstars Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah along with legendary fast bowler Zaheer Khan.

Adding balance to the attack, India’s legendary spinner Anil Kumble, the all-time leading ODI wicket-taker with 334 wickets, completed Williamson’s dream India XI in white-ball cricket. Kane chose the team on the social media handle of Middlesex County Cricket Club.

Meanwhile, Kane Williamson is set to play a key role off the field for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 2026 IPL season. Williamson joins LSG as strategic advisor. Along with him, Karl Crowe has joined the franchise as the spin-bowling coach ahead of the next season.

Lucknow Super Giants will continue with Justin Langer as the head coach and Bharat Arun as the bowling coach in the upcoming IPL 2026. In particular, Williamson’s experience and insight is expected to strengthen LSG’s planning and on-field strategies ahead of the new season.
