Just days after defeating India, Pakistan became Hong Kong Six champion for a record sixth time.

The Pakistan team won the Hong Kong Six title for the sixth time in the history of the competition by defeating Kuwait in the final of the 2025 edition at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong on 9 November.

Hong Kong Sixes is a special form of tournament in which some exciting activities take place between 12 teams. This time in 2025, these matches were played between 7 and 9 November.

The tournament featured 12 main teams, which included South Africa, Afghanistan, Nepal, Australia, England, UAE, India, Pakistan, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Hong Kong (China).

Pakistan wins record sixth Hong Kong Six title

Pakistan reached the final of the Hong Kong Sixes tournament along with Kuwait. Kuwait performed brilliantly and made it to the finals by defeating teams like India and England. They finished as runners-up, losing the match by 43 runs.

Kuwait captain won the toss against Pakistan and decided to bowl first. Abdul Samad played a quickfire inning of 42 runs in just 13 balls and captain Abbas Afridi took the pace further with an inning of 52 runs in 11 balls. Pakistan reached 135/3 in its 6 overs.

Kuwait’s batsmen, who had performed remarkably against India and England earlier, could not deliver an equally sensational performance this time. Adnan Idris scored 30 runs on just 8 balls, Bhaswar played till the last over and scored 33 runs on 12 balls and finally captain Yasin Patel also tried but was out after scoring 14 runs.

Sri Lanka secure bowl final while Hong Kong performs brilliantly in plate final

After Sri Lanka, India, UAE and Nepal finished last in the points table from their respective pools, they were eliminated from the main stage and played the Bowl League, where India lost all their games and Sri Lanka emerged as winners.

On the other hand, the top two teams in Pool A and Pool D, South Africa, Afghanistan, Hong Kong and Bangladesh, went on to play in the All Plate semi-finals. Hong Kong and Bangladesh qualified for the final, and Hong Kong won it.

The winners were awarded $20000 as winning prize money

Of the many major teams playing in the Hong Kong Sixes, Pakistan won the title and is the most successful team in the history of the tournament. He has been given a grand prize of $20000 for being the winner.

Kuwait, on the other hand, finished runners-up after losing the game to Pakistan by 43 runs and received $15,000. Pakistan captain Abbas Afridi was given the Player of the Match as well as Player of the Tournament award.

However, as per the statistics, Nepal’s Sandeep Jora remained the highest scorer with the bat with 176 runs, followed by Karim Janat’s 172 runs for Afghanistan. Aijaz Khan had scored 151 runs. Nepal’s Rashid Khan took 9 wickets, Abu Hidar Rony took 7 wickets and Lahiru Samarakoon took 5 wickets.
