Team India is all set to start the England tour with the first match of the 5-match T20 series in Birmingham from today. As the Men in Blue will play 5 T20 matches against England, cricket fans from every corner of the world are hoping that 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi will make his debut in the format for the national cricket team.
Before the first match of the series, England cricket star Jos Buttler has given a stern warning to the England National Cricket Team. The experienced keeper-batsman suggested his compatriots to be extra cautious if they face Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the series.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi makes headlines in IPL 2026
Vaibhav Suryavanshi is arguably the best hitter of the modern generation of cricket. The way he took on world-class bowlers in the last edition of the Indian Premier League was something that could be called out of this world.
Before receiving his first call-up for the senior Indian cricket team, the talented Rajasthan Royals player had claimed the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs in the IPL 2026 season. The left-handed batsman scored 776 runs in the season with one century and five half-centuries.

Vaibhav became the fastest batsman in history to reach 1,000 IPL runs in terms of balls faced. To make the record, he needed only 440 balls. In the campaign, the Bihar-born player smashed 63 fours and 72 sixes while thrashing the bowlers. Breaking the record of Abhishek Sharma, he also made the record of hitting most sixes in an IPL season. During the course, his strike rate was tremendous: 237.31.

Speaking with former England fast bowler Stuart Broad in the podcast, Buttler said that there are high chances of seeing Vaibhav Suryavanshi bat against India in the 5-match T20 competition. The keeper-batsman predicted that the young opener might look to open his international account with a six.
I am sure he can get a chance: Jos Buttler on Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s debut for Team India
Due to his ultra-aggressive batting nature, Buttler asked the cricketers to come up with a proper plan. Josh Buttler mentioned that the way the rising Indian batsman kept Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood in the pocket made him an automatic threat to any bowler on the planet.
“Now I’m sure he might get a chance; there are five games, so he might get a chance. I did – we had dinner tonight, and I said, if he plays, just know that you’re bowling to him, he’ll try and hit a six off your first ball,” Jos Buttler told Stuart Broad on the podcast.
The star keeper-batsman further said in his statement, “I think it is certain, so make sure we are ready for it and think about which ball you want to bowl because I think he will, he will want to hit a six on his very first ball in international cricket and obviously he has what we talked about before, he has Bumrah, Cummins, Hazlewood in his pocket.”
