The weather has made full preparations to spoil the cricket festival at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. The groundsmen were always on hand to keep the ground ready for at least a few overs during the clash between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Mumbai Indians (MI).
The total number of overs was reduced, but the thrill remained the same. When Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi started hitting the ball for fun, expectations skyrocketed.
Jofra Archer came and hit the bullseye
Rajasthan Royals finally won the match over Mumbai Indians and after the match they celebrated the victory by cutting a cake. While Ravindra Jadeja was busy cutting the cake, RR fast bowler Jofra Archer came, looked and just picked up a bottle of champagne and left. He decided to celebrate this moment in his own way.
Watch the moment Jofra Archer hijacked a champagne bottle:
Look at Jofra Archer – he saw the “champagne bottle”, checked its brand and date like a professional, picked it up and casually walked to his room –
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja and others were busy celebrating by cutting the cake after the win vs MI.

Overs reduced but excitement was high
Due to rain in the initial hours of the scheduled match, the total number of overs was reduced to 11 overs each. Batting first, in 11 overs, RR, the home side, scored 150 runs thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s unbeaten 77 off 32 balls and Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 39 runs off 14 balls. Captain Riyan Parag also played an inning of 20 runs in 10 balls with a strike rate of 200.00.
The target of 151 in 11 overs proved to be enough to defeat 5-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians. On the same surface, where RR batsmen took MI bowlers for a rollercoaster ride, Mumbai batsmen struggled to score runs against Rajasthan Royals in the second innings. In reply to Royals’ 150, MI managed to score 123 runs losing 9 wickets.
Sandeep Sharma was the most successful bowler of the match for the Royals, taking the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Shardul Thakur at an economy rate of 8.63 in 3 overs. It was Jofra Archer who first ruined the batting plans of Mumbai Indians. Jofra Archer took the wicket of MI opener Ryan Rickelton in the first over of the second innings. The English pacer took one wicket in 2 overs at an economy rate of 8.50.
After winning, Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag praised Jofra Archer.
With the win, RR remain on top of the IPL 2026 points table with 6 points from 3 matches, and Mumbai Indians have slipped to seventh place with 2 points from 3 matches.
“Jofra’s message is just to go out and bowl as fast as you can, Nandre too. On his days, they are fast, lethal and they are very in control. So I think anyone who bowls 145-150 to be so in control is just crazy. And, Vaibhav and Jaiswal, I really have no words to express,” RR skipper Riyan Parag said at the post-match presentation ceremony. I said.
He said, “Vaibhav (Suryavanshi), I think he is incredible. It is not a one-way job. If you have seen him in Ahmedabad, he has assessed the conditions and prepared for it. Jaiswal, he has been doing this for 3-4 years.”
