England’s nightmare tour of Australia has been dealt another major blow as fast bowler Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the remainder of the Ashes 2025-26 series due to a side strain.
England have already lost the Ashes 2025-26 to Australia after losing the first three Tests, and now Jofra Archer’s injury has added to their already deep troubles.

Reacting to the situation, England have named fast bowler Gus Atkinson as Archer’s replacement for the Boxing Day Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne.

There has also been a major change in the batting order, with Jacob Bethel being included at number three after Ollie Pope was dropped after a disappointing performance.
