Baroda wicketkeeper Amit Pasi enjoyed a dream debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 as he equaled the world record for the highest score by a player on T20 debut. Amit Pasi replaced Jitesh Sharma in the Baroda team and made an immediate impact in India’s premier T20 tournament.
Pasi was brought into the squad after star wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma left for India for the upcoming five-match T20 series against South Africa.

The youngster grabbed the opportunity with both hands and scored a world record-equalling century on his T20 debut against Services.

The 26-year-old entertained everyone with his fearless hitting against Services while opening the innings for Baroda in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 match in Hyderabad. He completed his half-century in just 24 balls. After that, he shifted to an even higher gear, and found the limits with ease.
All eyes were on Pasi when he reached 98 and completed his maiden T20 century in just 44 balls with his ninth six of the SMAT match. With this century, the right-handed batsman became only the third Indian player to score a T20 century on debut.
Amit Pasi joins elite club with highest T20 debut score
Pasi scored a brilliant 114 runs with the help of 10 fours and nine sixes in 55 balls at an amazing strike rate of over 207 against Services in Hyderabad. With his innings of 114 runs, the Baroda wicketkeeper-batsman became the joint-highest scorer on debut in the T20 format.
Pasi now shares the record for the highest score by a player on T20 debut with Sialkot Stallions’ Bilal Asif, who scored 114 in 2015. He was followed by Moeen Khan of Karachi Dolphins with 112 in 2005, M. Spurs of Canada with 108 in 2022 and S. of Chandigarh. Bhambri had scored 106 runs in 2019.
Hyderabad’s PA Reddy scored 105 in 2010, Serbia’s LA Dunbar scored 104 in 2019, and Central Punjab’s Abdullah Shafiq scored 102 in 2020. Canada’s Ravinderpal Singh scored 101 in 2019, while Faisalabad Wolves’ Asif Ali scored 100 on his T20 debut in 2011.

On the basis of Amit Pasi’s century, Baroda scored 220 runs against Services in SMAT 2025.
Meanwhile, Baroda scored a strong score of 220 runs for five wickets in 20 overs on the back of Pasi’s record century. Captain Vishnu Solanki and Bhanu Punia contributed 25 and unbeaten 28 runs to the team’s total score against Services in the ongoing SMAT 2025 match in Hyderabad.
Abhishek was the best bowler for Services, taking three wickets against Baroda. While chasing the target, Services got a fast start from their openers Kuwar Pathak and Ravi Chauhan. Although Mahesh Pithiya managed to dismiss Pathak for 51 off 29 balls, Ravi along with Mohit Ahlawat raced towards the total against Baroda.
Ravi is currently unbeaten on 44 and batting on 4 against Mohin Baroda as Services still need 123 runs in 9 overs to win the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 encounter in Hyderabad. Notably, Baroda are already out of the Super League stage race even if they beat Services.
