Indian wicketkeeper batsman Jitesh Sharma has chosen Rohit Sharma over great players like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, who play for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Some people are very happy that an RCB player has underestimated the experienced Virat Kohli.
After a few promising seasons for Punjab Kings, Jitesh Sharma made his debut for India in IPL 2023. Royal Challengers Bangalore bought Jitesh Sharma for a huge sum in the IPL 2025 mega-auction as he was bought for Rs 11 crore.
He had a great season playing for RCB and fell just 9 runs short of completing 1000 runs in the IPL. He made his debut for Punjab Kings in 2022 and overall scored 234, 309, 187 and 361 runs in this season. With a strike rate of 175+, he scored 261 runs for RCB at an average of 37.29.
Jitesh Sharma ignored AB de Villiers and chose Rohit Sharma
Recently Jitesh Sharma appeared in an exclusive interview where he was asked to choose the best player between AB de Villiers and Rohit Sharma. “It depends on what situation you want to play them in,” the player was quick to respond.
After this he chose Rohit Sharma in place of Protea legend AB de Villiers. It is noteworthy that both these players are known as the two most explosive batsmen of the team. Rohit Sharma scored many runs as an opening batsman in the team.
Otherwise, AB de Villiers was more effective during the chase, as the batsman scored more runs towards the end of the innings. He maintained a career strike rate of around 175 throughout his career and this increased to over 200 in the death overs.
RCB vice-captain picks Rohit Sharma as favorite over Virat Kohli
There was more surprise when the presenter asked him to choose a favorite player between Rohit Sharma and former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli. The RCB batsman chose Rohit over Virat Kohli without any hesitation.
Jitesh said, “Rohit bhai. I feel I am emotionally connected with him. I have been his fan since the time I had a conversation with him in IPL 2017-18. When I was just 22-23 years old, I was selected for Mumbai Indiana for the first time and I saw him play. I think he brings some different skills with him.”
Jitesh Sharma cooked a lot.
