Quinton de Kock missed a century
Proteas opener Quinton de Kock looked in sensational form with the bat in the second T20 match against India.
De Kock loves playing against India in international cricket, and he recorded his best T20I score since his return to the format at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium, New Chandigarh.
Since his return, De Kock had recorded scores of 1, 23, 7, 0 and 0 in the second game against the Men in Blue.
He finally ended the drought of runs and played a brilliant innings. The left-handed batsman attacked the bowlers from the very first over and continued his attack throughout the middle.
He looked set for a century, but Jitesh Sharma denied him the feat with a brilliant effort. On the first ball of the 16th over, Varun Chakravarthy bowled a flatter ball outside the off stump to Quinton de Kock.
De Kock got an under edge towards the keeper and went out of the crease for a moment. However, Jitesh Sharma was exceptionally quick, and caught hold of the ball before it was swiftly uprooted by the bails.
Jitesh Sharma managed to catch Quinton de Kock before the crease, and the Indian team broke into celebration as “Out” was displayed on the big screen. De Kock returned after scoring 90 runs in 46 balls.
