Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Match No. 57, is between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in New Raipur. The toss was delayed due to a wet outfield and before the game, RCB wicketkeeper batsman Jitesh Sharma revealed about the poor form while speaking to JioStar.
Jitesh Sharma is going through a bad phase. The team vice-captain has failed to register a single half-century this season, and most of his scores have been single figures. However, his form has not disappointed RCB, as the team has performed well and is in a good position in the points table.

People see the glass half empty – Jitesh Sharma
Some former cricketers have raised questions on the role of Jitesh Sharma in the team. However, silencing all the critics, Jitesh has replied that the franchise is happy with him and there is no possibility of him being dropped from the team.
“Some people see the glass as half empty, some see it as half full. Similarly, I understand that I am not scoring runs right now, but I focus on how much effort I can put into my keeping, how much feedback I can give to the team or how much I can help the captain. Instead of thinking too much about the things that are not happening, I focus on the things that I can do,” Jitesh said before the match.
I focus on what is good happening – Jitesh on wicketkeeping
Jitesh also praised Krunal Pandya and was asked how he deals with bouncers coming from a spinner. He also discussed about RCB’s bowling unit and wicketkeeping skills as the keeper has been fantastic behind the stumps.

“I focus on what is going well. (On his keeping, especially when Krunal is bowling) I wouldn’t say difficult, it is exciting because normally you save wickets in a certain way, but they have brought something new to the game. So as a cricketer, when something new comes it excites you. It is exciting to keep for Hazlewood, Bhuvi bhai and Krunal bhai.”
“One can never be 100% sure about how the wicket will play. You have to keep adapting as the game progresses. Yes, I stay close to the wicket, but still you can never be completely sure. However, your intention should always be right, that is what is important.”
RCB is trying to regain the top position
RCB has been one of the best teams since becoming champions for the first time last year. They are once again in a strong position to qualify for the playoffs. For RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been in sensational form, taking 21 wickets and is currently the Purple Cap holder. A win tonight will take them to the top of the table.
As per the recent update, the toss will take place at 8:30 PM and if there is no further rain then the match will start at 8:45 PM. As of now, no over has been lost. Fans will hope that there will be no further rain tonight.
