India National Cricket Team coach Ryan Ten Discuce has defended star wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson amid criticism of his not-soda knock at the Asia Cup 2025.
Ryan Ten Dyscht said that Sanju Samson is in the process of detecting things after a change in the role of his batting in the Indian T20I team.

Kerala superstar Sanju Samson was Team India’s first choice opener and wicketkeeper-batsman for most of the T20I matches from last year.
He did a great job as a opener for India and slammed some sensational centuries, which gave him great support from Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav.
However, on the return of T20 IT in order to bat on Shubman Gill’s return to Samson, the new vice-captain opened the innings with explosive Abhishek Sharma.
Initially, it was expected that Sanju Samson would be completely out of the eleven of playing, in which Jitesh Sharma worked in the middle order and batting.
However, the Indian team management supported Sanju Samson, and now Ryan Ten Dock has said that Kerala is the best option for the role of wicketkeeper-batsman number 5.
“Yes, I think he has two good opportunities. And I think he is still finding out how to play that role. I think the wicket also got a little tired in Pakistan’s game,” said Ten Dochet.
“But certainly the way Shubman and ABI are going to the top, and batting at number 3 with your captain, and the way Tilak has played, we are looking for number 5. We believe that Sanju is the best man for the job. I have no doubt that he will find out how to play that role in future,” Ten Dochet said.
Someone is unlikely to get sports time like Rinku or Jitesh – Ryan Ten Dotat
Ryan Ten Dyscht further said that the choice of Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma is not likely to get any sports time in the Asia Cup 2025.
“We tried to get some time in the middle of Abu Dhabi. But we are managing things with a look at the major tournaments like Asia Cup. A person like Rinku or a living is not likely to have a game time. But they are good in training.
He said, “We probably have to see the bilateral chain as a realistic opportunity.

The Indian assistant coach praised the explosive opening batsman Abhishek Sharma, who has been an MVP for India in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025.
Ryan said that Abhishek Sharma is very fearless and has incredible skills, but at the same time, he relaxes. He said:
“Fearless is the right word, but it is supported by incredible skills. The kind of game he plays, you can’t succeed all the time. He is a comfortable boy.”
