“He’s a 15-year-old kid who loves ice cream. He comes to my room and eats it with me; I don’t eat it, but he does. If a kid doesn’t want ice cream, what else will they eat? He comes to our house, talks to my wife and watches videos on YouTube. We are very close—he’s like my little brother,” Jitesh Sharma said in a video recently published by Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Sharma also said, “He is a very good friend of mine. We are very close and I can tell him anything.”

Jitesh Sharma doesn’t care what people say or what meaning people make of his comments. Since Vaibhav is only 15 years old, Jitesh encourages him to watch television and eat his favorite food.
“I don’t care what people say. A lot of professionalism is expected from him because he has to perform at this level, but he is still only 15 years old. Let a kid be a kid. When he is with me, he can be himself because I don’t judge him. I tell him, ‘You are just fifteen years old. Watch TV, eat whatever you want and just focus on your batting.’ He is happy this way,” Jitesh Sharma further said to Mr. Knaggs in the video.

During an online conversation with RCB legend AB de Villiers, Jitesh said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi has the potential to become an all-format cricketer for Team India in the future due to his technique, mentality and hard work.
“AB asked, ‘Which young Indian do you think can become a star or player?’ My immediate answer was Vaibhav Suryavanshi. When he asked why, I pointed to his technique, mentality and hard work. I told him that Vaibhav can dominate in all three formats and he looks very professional on the field. But in reality, it’s not just that,” the RCB keeper said in the video.
