Jay Shah leaves India, Pakistan from same group in ICC tournament after Asia Cup heat

There has been a lot of discussion after the Asia Cup 2025 drama and now International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Jay Shah has ensured that India and Pakistan are placed in different groups for the upcoming ICC tournament.

Jay Shah has announced the schedule and venues for the upcoming 16th edition of the ICC U19 World Cup 2026. This program will take place in Namibia and Zimbabwe. The ICC U19 World Cup 2026 will run from 15 January to 6 February 2026.

The format of the tournament is unchanged, with the 16 teams divided into four groups of four each and a total of 41 matches scheduled over 23 days. Well, five-time champions India have been placed in Group A along with Bangladesh, USA and New Zealand.

Pakistan, on the other hand, have been placed in Group B along with Zimbabwe, England and Scotland. The teams will reach the African country on January 8 and warm-up will begin from January 9 to 14.

Here are the groups:

Group A: India, Bangladesh, United States and New Zealand

Group B: Zimbabwe, Pakistan, England and Scotland

Group C: Australia, Ireland, Japan and Sri Lanka

Group D: Tanzania, West Indies, Afghanistan and South Africa
