Passer of the former National Cricket Team of India and the Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) Chairman, Chetan Sharma, has shared his views about Jaspreet Bumrah status.
Chetan Sharma adopted Jaspreet Bumrah by criticizing his workload management strategy and said that Pace Spearhead is only following the orders of the medical team.

However, he has faced heavy backlash due to limited availability in India’s recent five -match Test series against the England National cricket team.
Before going to Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, Jasprit Bumrah told the BCCI selection committee that it would be available for only three matches to avoid any injury and manage his work.
Jasprit Bumrah played the first, third and fourth games, where he bowled 119.4 overs and took 14 wickets. Despite its good contribution, India did not win any match, which was played by Jasprit Bumrah, and angered the fans and the cricket fraternity, remembering the final test of the series.
Many people questioned Bumrah’s commitment to the team, but Chetan Sharma supported Paes Spearhead. He said that the medical team and physio are the best judges, and a player should strictly follow his advice.
“If the medical team advises, if the doctor tells me that I want to take antibiotics, I have to consume them. If our physio is asking a player to manage the workload, I think we should listen to them because they are better judges,” Dorded to the Indian Express.

Under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, India attracted the five-match Test series against England 2–2 and Chetan Sharma was impressed by the team’s performance.
Chetan Sharma said that he was very proud of the efforts of the young Indian team and supported him to get the Asia Cup 2025 title.
“I know that anyone who is chosen will be best for the country. And the kind of cricket we are playing now, I am actually proud of the way India is played in England. And I am very confident that we are definitely going to win the Asia Cup (to be played in T20 format) because we are playing T20 World Cup (202) in India soon after,” said he said.
Sharma said, “This is a big thing when you are playing (World Cup) in your backyard. If the intention is correct, the results will also be good.”

The India Squad for the Asia Cup 2025 is to be declared on Tuesday, August 19. When Shubman Gill should be selected, it was asked to share his views on it, Chetan Sharma said it is up to the selectors and should name the best possible 15 players in the squad.
“Look, it is up to the selectors what they see. I do not matter because I am no longer the president (of the selectors), so I will only say that the best possible team should be selected. We have good cricketers who are not only the top -15, but even if the top -30 is selected, they are all very good.
