Former Team India bowling coach Bharat Arun has given an important statement about the future of Paes bowler Jasprit Bumrah with Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL. Arun said that Jasprit Bumrah should prioritize the major test series on the IPL to manage the charge and maintain the summit.
Jasprit Bumrah played the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy against England as part of a workload management plan in three out of five tests in 2025. The 31 -year -old pace bowler has suffered recurring injuries in his career, including an injury earlier in Australia that excluded him for three months.
Bharat Arun urged Jaspreet Bumrah to leave IPL to give priority to Test cricket
Speaking on the latest episode of Bombay Sport Exchange, Bharat Arun said that Test cricket should be a test cricket priority for fast bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah. He said that unlike batsmen or spinners, fast bowlers need rest to recover. Arun also said that the BCCI should compensate the players adequately.

“Surely, it will help. Especially when you want to preserve the bowlers. Like, it is fine for a batsman or a spinner to play all the formats. But for a fast bowler, yes – playing too much cricket does not give enough time to work on the physical front,” Arun said, as is quoted by OTI.
“So yes, it can certainly be seen. People like Bumrah or any other bowler feel that it is very important for a special series, and they can also be adequately compensated.”
“If he is properly compensated and then called by the BCCI, because he is on contract, that we want you to work on this particular aspect of your game, I think it’s quite appropriate.”
Jasprit Bumrah next Asia Cup to be seen in action in 2025
Jasprit Bumrah played the first Test match in Headingley, missed the second, and painted in the third and fourth Tests. The right-arm bowler gave 119.4 overs during the series.
Bumrah claimed 14 wickets, including two-five-wickets, an average of 26.00 and 51.28 strike rates. Men won two matches in men under the leadership of Shubman Gill when Bumrah was in XI. The series between India and England concluded in a draw 2–2.
Bumrah has represented India in 207 international matches, taking an average of 20.63 wickets in 20.63, including 17 five-viccities. He will play for India in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will start from 9 September in UAE.
Mohammad Siraj has been extraordinary – Bharat Arun
Former India bowling coach called Mohammad Sirraj a bowler, whom any captain would like. Arun said that Siraj has maintained high intensity in five-observe chains. He said that Sirj should be given enough rest before the next series.
“Siraj has been there for some time. He has been extraordinary. He is the pleasure of the captain. Every time you give him the ball, he runs inside and gives 100%. That’s what I expect from a fast bowler. He got a great energy,” Arun said.
“Looking at this five-testing series, Siraj has maintained the same intensity in the fifth test as before. They need to be preserved and adequately relaxed before the first series so that he can recover completely physically before playing again.”
