Jasprit Bumrah had a funny joke with the paparazzi at the airport. The star pacer was seen entering the airport with his wife and famous sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan and their son Angad.

The paparazzi were waiting outside the airport entrance to click some pictures of Jasprit Bumrah. Upon arrival, Bumrah requested the paparazzi not to take pictures of his wife and son. Later, he expressed gratitude for agreeing to his request. However, before checking in at the airport, Bumrah himself got some pictures clicked.

Jasprit Bumrah is spending his free time with his family

The pacer was in very comfortable and casual attire. He is in a casual black oversized t-shirt with comfortable pants, shoes and a hat. Since he is not in the ODI squad for the ongoing series against Afghanistan, he now has some free time to spend with family and close ones.

Despite concerns about his workload, Jasprit Bumrah had to play two consecutive matches. After securing the 2026 T20 World Cup, he went to play the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) with Mumbai Indians.

It was a very difficult season for the veteran fast bowler as he took only four wickets in 13 matches. His average was 102.50, strike rate 73.5 and economy rate 8.36.

He is expected to return to action for Team India during the tour of the United Kingdom, where they will face Ireland and England in two consecutive white-ball series. The 32-year-old looked relaxed as he shared a fun moment with fans and paparazzi at the airport.

As soon as they reached the airport gate in the morning, the veteran cricketer asked them to take proper rest and have breakfast. “Subeh subeh aaram karo, naashat karo (rest and have breakfast in the morning),” said Jasprit Bumrah.

Question on seamer’s work ethic

While the Board of Control for Cricket in India keeps a close eye on the fast bowler’s workload management to ensure his career flourishes at the highest level, former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has raised questions over the bowler’s work ethic.

He said on Sony, “Bumrah is someone like that… I am confused about how his career is going in terms of his availability. I did an Insta post yesterday. I thought Bumrah was the frontrunner to be India’s T20 captain because I felt he could take over the T20 charge.” Sports Network.

The former cricketer asked Bumrah to play more matches for the national cricket team as he had made himself available for the entire Indian Premier League season.

Manjrekar said, “I just want him to commit himself more to India. I can understand the workload he feels for Test cricket; 50 overs of cricket are extremely demanding. But given that he played the entire IPL, I thought he would be able to handle the workload of some T20 matches in Ireland and England.”

It is noteworthy that before joining Mumbai Indians for the 2026 season, Jasprit Bumrah had gone to the Center of Excellence (COE) of the board.
