Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan expressed concern against England during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025’s charge management of Ace Paper Jasprit Bumrah. Pathan said that other bowlers like Mohammad Siraj, who were taking major wickets in the recent series, conducted all five tests.
Team India attracted senior players missing from the recently concluded series 2–2 despite Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Skipper Shubman Gill led further with 754 runs, while KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja also scored more than 500 runs. Mohammad Siraj took 23 wickets on an average of 32.43.

However, India lost both matches, where they took five wicket halls, while the two tests they missed ended in victory. Some former cricketers questioned the management of Jasprit Bumrah, even without giving them directly.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Sirj played all five tests and emerged as a leading wicket -taker with 23 wickets, including two five wickets Houles. He gave a memorable mantra in the last morning of the fifth test at the Oval, took three of the last four wickets and helped India win six runs.
You cannot say, ‘I will bowl only four overs’ – Irfan Pathan’s indirect excavation in Jaspreet Bumrah
Irfan Pathan rapidly talked about the workload management for the bowlers. Talking to Lallantop, he emphasized that the recovery protocols are important, but the priority should give its best and fully competition for the team.
“I believe that technology and recovery should go by hand. You should also listen to your body. But once you step on the field, the workload should not be an idea now. Then it’s just a fight. A team has to win against the other. You have to win. It’s a fight, and your only attention should be on winning in any way,” Pathan said.
“Recovery and field technology is fine. But once you step inside, you are wearing an Indian jersey. After that, you don’t look back. You can’t say, ‘I will just bowl four overs’ or ‘I will bowl three overs’. People don’t just say this, they do so. It works these days.”
Mohammad Siraj also has a charge, right? – Irfan Pathan
Irfan Pathan said that his comment on workload management applies to all players, not only one. He quoted Mohammad Siraj as an example, given that Siraj played all five tests and bowled more than 140 km/h on the last day at the Oval.
“I am talking about everyone, not only one player. Everyone. Sirj was bowling at the last day of the final exam, 145 km/h. He also has a work burden, okay? It applies to all. But once you step inside, you give it everything,” said Pathan.
Jasprit Bumrah has a unique bowling style and body that requires fitness management, but he still performs at the highest level. He has the best average among Test bowlers with more than 200 wickets, making him one of the largest fast bowlers in India.
