India and Pakistan are all set to renew their rivalry when they face each other in the 27th match of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2025. This much-awaited match is to be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
While India will start the game as favourites, Pakistan is capable of a surprise or two. One fight that could decide the fate of the big game is Jasprit Bumrah vs Sahibzada Farhan. While the fast bowler will be India’s trump card, Pakistan will be hoping that Sahibzada Farhan continues his good record against them.

Sahibzada Farhan vs Jasprit Bumrah:
Not many batsmen have been successful in defeating Bumrah, but the Pakistan opener has had a lot of success against the Indian batsman. The right-handed batsman faced a fast bowler for the first time in last year’s Asia Cup and performed strongly.
In three matches, Sahibzada Farhan, apart from hitting three sixes, scored 51 runs on 34 balls against Bumrah. Bumrah, on the other hand, is yet to dismiss the right-handed batsman and will be keen to take a big wicket in the upcoming match.
Bumrah world number one bowler:
Just before the start of the match, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh asked Sahibzada Farhan about Bumrah. The former cricketer turned commentator asked Pakistan Star: “Even the biggest batsmen feel nervous in front of Jasprit Bumrah, but your record against him is very good.”
In response, Sahibzada Farhan described Bumrah as the best in the world and said that he would like to attack the India star directly.
“When you manage to do something like that against the best, a lot of pressure goes away. But there is no doubt that he is the number one bowler in the world – there is a reason behind it. Even today, I will play in the same manner and try to attack the main bowler.” Farhan said.
Sahibzada Farhan on playing against India:
Farhan also admitted that players are always under pressure while facing India. He further said that he will take confidence from his performance against India in the Asia Cup last year and will try to make an impact once again.
“Whenever you play against India, there is always pressure. But whenever you perform, it also gives you confidence. So whoever says there is no pressure, they are lying. The way I handled things in the last Asia Cup, I would like to do the same here.” Sahibzada said.
Both India and Pakistan have won their first two matches and will be keen to continue the winning streak. The winner of the upcoming match will secure a place in the next round of the competition.
