India began their training before the second Test match against England in Edgbaston, Birmingham, after its loss in a series opener in Heddingley in Leeds. Star Pesar Jasprit Bumrah was present at the venue, but did not participate in any on-field exercise during the first net session on Friday 27 June.
Jasprit Bumrah and Prasad Krishna did not participate in the practice session in preparation for the second test. However, his colleagues went through their batting and bowling routines in the nets. Two pacers stayed in the stadium campus and before that the team traveled with the squad in the bus.

Under the leadership of the England series, reports indicated that only three of the five tests due to Bumrah workload management would play. Pesar, 31, later confirmed this in an interview with Dinesh Karthik on Sky Sports.
With India, now 0–1 in the series and the second Test in Edgbaston is a virtual Must-win, increasing pressure from fans and former players and urges the team to include Bumrah in the playing XI.

However, Jasprit Bumrah was seen bowling in the nets during an exercise session on Saturday. The right-arm pacer bowled with full intensity amid speculation about their availability for the upcoming match. Prasad Krishna and Mohammad Sirj also bowled during the practice session.

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Yashsvi Jaiswal were rested from the trap. It is worth noting that all four batsmen scored in the first Test match for centuries. Rishabh Pant became the first Indian wicketkeeper to score two centuries in the same Test match.
Five wicket defeat in India Leeds, 0-1 in Test series
India Trail 0–1 after facing a five-wicket defeat in the initial match at Hadingley, Leeds in a five-observance series against England. Batting first, India placed a large part of a total of 471 after centuries after Yashsavi Jaiswal (101), Captain Shubman Gill (147), and Rishabh Pant (134).
England replied with 465, bringing the deficit to just six runs. Jasprit Bumrah acted by taking five wickets with the ball. In its second innings, India has 364 and couple, KL Rahul (137) and Pant (118) for centuries.
Despite the challenging clan, England chased it comfortably on the last day, finishing the job in 82 overs with Ben Docket, scoring a significant 149. The result gave England a benefit of 1-0 in the series, with four tests remaining.
