Sanjay Manjrekar has strongly called for an immediate return to Jaspreet Bumrah to play as India prepares for another test against England in Edgbaston.
After the dramatic collapse in the five -match Test series opener, Sanjay Manjrekar believes that India cannot only sell the scattered Jasprit Bumrah for a second testing against England.
The first test in Hadingley was a bitter bullet to swallow for India. Despite the five centuries and a commanding 371-Run lead, the Indian bowlers failed to protect the clan and win the match.

But Manjrekar believes that Jasprit Bumrah should play in the second Test against England, especially after seeing the bowling unit under pressure in Headingley.

Sanjay Manjrekar said on ESPNCRICINFO, “I mean there is no doubt in anyone’s mind, and I don’t think India has an alternative. He has met to play. He did not bowl as much as he had thought in the second innings. Also, he did not take the field towards the end”.
“Long intervals, and if he no longer play, you have seen what the bowling attack looks, even with Bumrah in the second innings in the last Test. So I got to play Bumrah.”
“And I know that he is not going to play the whole series, but it’s a game, and we will see what happens in the next because it just does not mean that to take a break at this turn in the series.”

Meanwhile, the cricket expert believes that India has no choice but to play Bumrah in the second Test against England. Criticizing the idea of pre -planned rotation, Manjrekar said that decisions on Bumrah should be done at a time based on India’s position.
Manjrekar signed, saying, “Whatever the matter, I do not see him resting in the second test, and India also knows that he has met in another test. And I always believe that instead of making long -term plans, there is always a clearness, neutrality at the end of every Test match. Bumrah should always play next or next.”
