According to a report by The Indian Express, India is likely to be without Jasprit Bumrah for the second Test as part of a strategic plan before the workload management or before the Lord’s Test.

In the absence of Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj will lead the attack of motion. He will have to play a central role not only as the main strike bowler, but also as auxiliary pacers and a motivator for himself.

Jasprit Bumrah was a bowlers’ pick for India in England’s first innings during the Handingley Test. He recorded 5/83 figures in 24.4 overs, in which he claimed a test of his 14th five-wicket. However, despite a strong start, he became wicket -free in the second innings, scoring only 28 runs in his first 11 overs.
Bumrah conceded 26 runs in its next four overs, as England comfortably chased a target of 371 runs. India’s bowling attack lacked adequate support around him. Mohammad Siraj took two wickets in the first innings but failed to influence the second.
While both Bumrah and Siraj put initial pressure in the second innings, the first-chan bowlers Prasad Krishna and Shardul Thakur released the grip, allowing England batsmen to score and chase the chase independently.
