India’s last man to bat at the crease, Jasprit Bumrah, was out on the very first ball due to a misunderstanding with spinner Varun Chakravarthy at the non-striker’s end. The experienced fast bowler looked quite disappointed with the non-striker’s lack of awareness of the game.

Despite a brilliant innings by opener Abhishek Sharma, India suffered a crushing defeat in the second T20 match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Australian bowlers, especially Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Ellis, remained disciplined and prevented the Indians from getting settled at any stage of the game.

Bumrah could manage no more than defending his first ball from Nathan Ellis down the side of the pitch and hoped Chakravarthy would respond immediately for a run. However, when Bumrah had run almost half the distance, he had to turn back as Varun did not seem to move from his crease.

Nathan Ellis stepped up quickly to force an easy runout and India were all out for 125 without completing their 20 overs. Bumrah glared at Chakravarthy, but then soon lowered his head with a disapproving smile on his face.
