There has been a major development about the participation of the Asia Cup 2025 and the participation of Bumrah in the Asia Cup and ODI cricket.
Allegedly, Premier Pacer Jasprit Bumrah is planning to leave 20 over containntal tournaments and stay away from 50 overs cricket, until the ICC Mains T20 World Cup 2026 home.

BCCI released Bumrah from Test Squad
On Friday, August 1, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at the Kennington Oval in London to the Justified Bumrah from the Test Squad between the fifth and final match of 2025.
Bumrah was not selected to play XI for the fifth Test against England in India as he had already completed the quota of three Tests on the tour.
In particular, World No. 1 Pesar decided before the introduction of the series that he would provide facilities to manage his charge properly and avoid injuries in only three matches.
He played the first Test at Handingley at Leeds, third Test at Lord’s in London, and fourth Test at Old Trafford in Manchester. Jasprit Bumrah bowled 119.4 overs and took 14 wickets at an average of 26.00, an economy of 3.04 and a strike rate of 51.28.
Despite being on the line of the series, he left the last Test match and was converted into a playing XI by Prasad Krishna as India made a total of four changes for the important match.
Asia Cup 2025 to start on September 9
India is the nominated hosts of the Asia Cup 2025, but the competition is scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to a mutual agreement signed between India and Pakistan, which restrictions both teams from traveling to each other’s countries for the next three years.
The Asia Cup 2025 is set to start on September 9, and the summit clash is scheduled to be held on 28 September. India’s national cricket team has been kept in Group A along with Pakistan National Cricket Team, Oman National Cricket Team and UAE National Cricket Team.
Apart from this, Group B consists of Sri Lanka National Cricket Team, Bangladesh National Cricket Team, Afghanistan National Cricket Team and Hong Kong National Cricket Team. The Blockbuster India vs Pakistan match is scheduled to be held in Dubai on 14 September.
Jasprit Bumrah is ready to leave all Asia Cup 2025
According to a PTI report, Jasprit Bumrah is very likely to leave the Asia Cup 2025 as participation in the Continental Tournament will doubt his availability for the Home Test series against the West Indies.
The final of the Asia Cup 2025 will be held on 28 September, and India’s Test series against the West Indies will begin on 2 October, followed by the second match from 10 October.
“This will be a difficult call, but Bumrah loves Test cricket and the World Test Championship points at stake. As far as T20 is concerned, he can play a series against New Zealand in January, which will be a dress rehearsal for the T20 World Cup,” BCCI’s source described PTI on a condition of drug addiction with the Indian selection process.
“If Bumrah plays the Asia Cup and seems to play in the finals, he cannot play against the West Indies in Ahmedabad. Obviously the question arises, do you need Bumrah against the West Indies or he plays Asia Cup after a month’s break and plays two tests against South Africa.
In addition, the report claimed that ICC Men T20 World Cup will not play several ODI matches for Bumrah Indian team.
