India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is often known for creating history in the game, and this time, he has achieved a new milestone by playing 50 matches across all formats of the game for India.
After the Test match tie on the overseas tour of England, India is currently performing brilliantly in the home Test series against West Indies. India are hosting them in two matches and have started with an impressive win in the first Test in Ahmedabad.
This victory was achieved due to another brilliant performance by the Indian batsmen on the very first day of the second Test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Yashasvi Jaiswal has taken command of the Indian innings by scoring a brilliant century, while Sudarshan is in a supporting role.

Amidst the success of the Indian team, great fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has created a new record while playing for India in the second Test match against West Indies. Jasprit Bumrah is playing the 50th Test match of his career.
With this latest feat, he has become the first Indian fast bowler to play 50+ Test matches across all formats of the game. Even legendary Indian cricketers Kapil Dev, Zaheer Khan, Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh could not reach this milestone due to the absence of T20I cricket during their time.

Jasprit Bumrah rested for Australia ODI; Eyes on T20 World Cup 2026
The top Indian fast bowler has been selected for the upcoming tour of Australia, as he has been selected to play only the shortest format of the game. Recently, he was part of India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2025 and led the Indian pace attack.
For the upcoming tour of Australia, Bumrah’s unavailability will be due to his workload management. He played in the England series and Asia Cup and now was also a part of the West Indies home series. He has resorted to playing the shortest format as he aims to participate in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which is scheduled to be held in India.
India, the defending champions from 2024, will be set to defend their title in home conditions, marking their first World Cup campaign under new head coach Gautam Gambhir.
Sai Sudarshan missed scoring a century in the second test
Indian batsman Sai Sudarshan, who played for India in the longest format of the game, failed to give his best performance during India’s tour of England. After playing 6 matches in the tour, he scored 140 runs with only one half-century.
Despite poor form, he was given a chance to play in the home series against West Indies. However, he failed to put up a promising performance in Ahmedabad, a ground he is very familiar with.
Coming into the second Test, Sudarshan scored another half-century, the second half-century of his Test career. He contributed to a big partnership with Centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, on the verge of scoring his maiden Test century, he was dismissed by Jomel Warrican as he was trapped just short of the stumps.
