Jasprit Bumrah avoids major injury scare ahead of KKR vs MI clash in IPL 2026
In the clip shared by Mumbai Indians on X (formerly Twitter), Bumrah was seen walking and chatting with former MI captain Rohit Sharma during a training session at the Eden Gardens.
But suddenly from somewhere a high speed ball came flying towards Bumrah. The Indian fast bowler reacted quickly and quickly ducked down to avoid injury. The moment looked extremely dangerous, as the ball could have injured MI’s leading bowler.

Rohit Sharma looked completely surprised to see the ball coming so close to Bumrah. While the former Indian captain looked worried for his teammate, Bumrah also looked scared and shocked. The fast bowler was also seen trying to trace where the ball actually came from.
Thankfully, Bumrah escaped serious injury, which was a big relief for Mumbai Indians and its fans, especially after he led the team to a thrilling win over Punjab Kings in their previous game. This was Bumrah’s first match as IPL captain.

Jasprit Bumrah’s nightmare in IPL 2026
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah faces a tough IPL 2026 season with the five-time champions. The star fast bowler has so far managed to take only 3 wickets in 12 matches at a disappointing average of 129.67 and an economy rate of around 9, which is a shocking decline for one of the best bowlers in the world.
Bumrah comes into this season after an incredible ICC T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, where he took 14 wickets and played a key role in India’s title defence. But the Indian fast bowler’s IPL 2026 season has been a nightmare for the bowler and his team as well.
He even went through the longest wicketless spell of his IPL career, failing to take a single wicket in his first five matches and finally got his first success against Gujarat Titans. Bumrah will be expected to perform well in MI’s remaining two matches this season.

On the other hand, Bumrah has been rested for the upcoming bilateral series against Afghanistan to manage his workload. He will be back in India colors in England, where the team is set to play five T20I matches from July 1, 2026.
India are set to host Afghanistan in a one-off Test in Mullanpur starting on June 6, followed by three ODIs in Dharamshala, Lucknow and Chennai on June 14, 17 and 20 respectively.
“Bumrah will be back when we tour England. He is working on his workload,” Indian chief selector Ajit Agarkar told reporters after the Test and ODI squads were announced.
