1 Test Sparks absence of Bumrah in the final stages of concerns
Modern-day pace-bouling Great Bumrah performed heavy lifting for Team India in the series opener against the England National Cricket Team.
In the first innings, he gave an extraordinary performance and managed to secure the five -wicket race even after several catches were removed from his bowling.
Jasprit Bumrah returned with figures of 24.4-5-83–5 in the first innings, which helped him cross Wasim Akram and become a leading wicket-taking among Asian bowlers in army countries.
Meanwhile, things were quite different for the Premier Right-Arm Quick in the second innings, as the English batsmen were additional alert.
In his 19 overs, Bumrah scored 57 runs while being a wicket -free, as England easily chased a target of 371 runs. He was surprisingly remembering the action in the dying moments of the match on 24 June, and it caused anxiety.
Shubman Gill handed over the new ball, which was taken after the 80th over, instead of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja bowled from the other end.
No, he is fully fit – Shubman Gill on Jaspreet Bumrah
Bumrah was also seen massaging the shoulder during the final stages of the game, and the fear of injury increased among fans. After the match, Shubman Gill was asked about the disappearance of Bumrah during the final stages of the play at the BBC Test Match Special.
Shubman Gill dismissed the concerns of any injury and declared Pesar perfectly fit. However, he did not say whether Pesar would present in the second Test match.
“No, he is fully fit. There is nothing like that. They were 15 or 20 runs left, so we wanted to give it to some other bowlers, but he is definitely fit,” Gill said.
He said, “This is definitely a match-by-match. We have got a good break after this match. Once we go to Birmingham and see wickets, we will see if he is going to play that one or not,” he said.
Shubman Gill has explained why he did not bowl Jaspreet Bumrah at the closing feet of England’s run chase.
He has also talked about his possibility of playing in Edgbaston.#ENGVIND pic.twitter.com/uapmabh0fa

He was fantastic – Shubman Gill on Rishabh Pant
Shubman Gill also appreciated wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant for twin tons and convicted the catches dropped for India’s loss. He said:
“He was fantastic. Our top five were fantastic. We still have a young team and some catches did not go in our way, so the game slipped.”
He said, “On going to this game, we felt that when we play in Edgbaston, we will be offered more than the wicket. We bowled well in the first session, but once the duke is old, it is easy to score. We have a lot of practice sessions in the break.”
