From a stunning all-round performance Jason holder West Indies inspired one Two wickets win over Pakistan in 2 T20I Of three-match series. Secure on the final ball of the match, this win, raise the chain 1–1 and sets a mouth-watering decisive.
Pakistan’s innings
After winning the toss and election to bat first at the Central Browd Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Pakistan left for an unstable start. The West Indies bowler, led by a brilliant Jason holder, was tireless in his attack. Holder was extraordinary, ending with 4 figures for 19 of his four overs, including important wickets of openers.
Pakistan found itself in an indefinite position at 53 for 4, but a flexible partnership between captain Aga Salman (38) and Hasan Nawaz (40) brought him back to the game. Nawaz was particularly aggressive, hitting 4 sixes in his Quickfire 23 balls. However, once the holder rejected Nawaz and returned to break the partnership, the West Indies gained control. Pakistan’s lower order was not in cashing on recovery, and they were eventually limited to 9 to 9 in their 20 overs. Akeal Hosein, Gudakesh Motie and Roston Chase also pasted with major wickets.
West indies innings
Chasing a minor target of 134, the West Indies batting lineup fought to find pace against a disciplined Pakistan bowling attack. Pakistan spinners were particularly effective, Mohammad Nawaz took 3 wickets for just 14 runs. The West Indies lost wickets at regular intervals, and the match was slipping away from them when they were reduced by 98 for 7.
However, an enthusiastic partnership between Gudkesh Moti (28) and Romeroo Shepherd (15) kept the house team in hunting. The pressure was immense by Shaheen Afridi, with the need of 7 runs from the final. But appropriately, it was the Jason holder who grabbed his nerve. After Shepherd’s dismissal, Holder found Seema on a very last ball, sealing a sensational two wicket win for his team.
