Jacob Bethel embarrassed by on-field Ashes mess-up

England’s young player Jacob Bethel was selected to bat at number. 3 for the English side. Australia were asked to bat first and Bethel came out to field for England. England’s fast bowlers bowled brilliantly and restricted the Australian batsmen to a score of 152.

During the innings, Bethel, who was fielding near the cover region, slipped in an attempt to stop a moving ball and his pants slipped down. During the event, the English youngster was seen wearing Ashes-trophy-themed underwear.

This incident immediately caught the attention of the fans and the cameras once again caught sight of him during the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The player was embarrassed as he immediately started smiling as he got to his feet.

Recently, Jacob Bethel played the MCG test after an off-field controversy.

The latest incident on the field came to light when Jacob Bethel was found involved in an off-field brawl. Recently, several videos surfaced on social media, in which the young all-rounder was shown dancing with an unknown woman in a nightclub.

The clip went viral within no time and England fans as well as many former players seemed unhappy with his behaviour, especially when England were in such a weak phase, having already lost 2 matches in the series.

In the same viral video, England batsman Ben Duckett was also seen drunk. The English opener was also heavily criticized for missing runs throughout the series and instead partying and drinking beer in nightclubs.

Despite the brave efforts of the fast bowlers, the struggle of England’s batsmen continues.

The English pacer did a remarkable job by dismissing the Australian batsmen at the score of 152. For the first time in the series, England were in the driving seat so early as Josh Tong claimed five wickets. Even Steve Smith, who made a brilliant record at the MCG, was clean bowled by Tongue.

However, the English batsmen continued their disappointing performance and were all out for only 110 runs, giving the Australians a lead of 42 runs despite the small score. Michael Neser was the best bowler with 4 wickets, while Scott Boland and Mitchell Starc also took 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

Harry Brook remained the only English batsman to pass the score of 40, and among multiple single-digit scorers, Gus Atkinson, with 28, was the second-highest scorer for England, behind captain Ben Stokes. Jacob Bethel could score only 1 run in his Ashes debut match in Australia.
