Earlier, several media outlets had claimed that several franchises have shown interest in securing Ishan’s services for the next season. Mumbai Indians (MI), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have reportedly approached SRH for a trade or an all-cash deal.

Among them, Mumbai Indians (MI) are reportedly the frontrunners in bringing back Kishan, as the franchise still sees him as an ideal fit at the top of their batting order.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are also looking for a quality Indian top-order batsman and a reliable wicketkeeper, and Ishan looks like a perfect fit for the three-time IPL champions.
Well, Kishan had a mixed season with SRH earlier this year. Despite being bought for a huge price of ₹11.25 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, the Jharkhand cricketer had an inconsistent season, scoring only 354 runs.
He started the season with a brilliant century, but failed to maintain that momentum and the team failed to qualify for the playoffs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad unlikely to release Ishan Kishan before IPL 2026 auction
However, Sunrisers Hyderabad is currently hesitant in letting Ishaan go. Now, RevSportz journalist, Rohit Juglan has claimed that Mumbai Indians have “no interest” in Ishan, nor are they planning to bring the wicketkeeper-batsman into the squad for IPL 2026.
The journalist further added that SRH is also in no mood to release Ishan due to his dual role as a wicketkeeper-batsman. SRH Looking for a good spinner who can bowl four overs, but they are not going to release their top-order batsman before the auction.,

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad is preparing to make major changes to the team ahead of the IPL 2026 auction after finishing sixth with 13 points in the 2025 season. Despite a record-breaking start, including a mammoth score of 286/4 against Rajasthan Royals, SRH’s campaign slowed down as key players failed to perform with both bat and ball.
The SRH team management is now planning to release several high-profile names in a bid to rebuild a stronger, more balanced squad. Captain Pat Cummins, who is priced at ₹18 crore, is likely to be released due to fitness concerns and inconsistent form.
Along with him, Mohammed Shami (₹10 crore), Harshal Patel (₹8 crore), Rahul Chahar (₹3.2 crore), Abhinav Manohar (₹3.₹2 crore), Adam Zampa (₹2)₹4 crore), and Ishan Malinga (₹1.2 crore) are also expected to be released by the franchise.
By removing Cummins, Shami, Harshal, Rahul, Zampa, Malinga and Manohar, SRH can free up around ₹46 crore, giving them a bigger purse advantage to target new overseas stars and young Indian talent for IPL 2026.
