Ishan Kishan has made a great comeback in the Indian team. He returned to the T20I team after his recent performances in domestic cricket, where he led his team to win the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as he captained Jharkhand in the final of the tournament and scored a century in the most important match. After which he was called back to the Indian border.
Ishan Kishan also showed his form in his international comeback. Scored 215 runs in the 5-match series against New Zealand and was behind only team captain Suryakumar Yadav. He scored a century in the fifth and final T20 match in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He played an inning of 103 runs and helped India score a huge score of 271 runs. Kishan has also been included in the 2026 T20 World Cup squad.
Apart from cricket, Kishan is having fun
Kishan was found in a happy mood as he was present on the YouTube channel named 2 Sloggers, a popular Indian cricket-centric content creation channel founded and managed by actor/comedian Shubham Gaur, where he was found having fun with his teammates and reacting to some of his old videos and funny moments.
He found himself laughing again when he watched old viral videos of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, which showed that some dressing room moments never get old.
While talking on video with Shubman Gill, he said, “Gil starts all the dirty activities and I just follow, Gill is the one who will sit in the middle, who will give up in studies and later will also chill for 2 hours on the last bench.” (English translation; All naughty things start with Gil, and I just follow him. Gil is the guy who will sit in the middle row, raise his hand in class like a studious kid, and then relax on the last bench for two hours.)
An old video of Kishan resurfaced
Shubman and Kishan have always shared a strange bond, as a video of them went viral during the West Indies tour, where she asked Ishan Kishan, “Meri t-shirt hatake pasina chatega (Will you take off my t-shirt and lick my sweat?)” After hearing this, Ishan Kishan was shocked and replied, “Pagal vagal hai kya? (Are you crazy?).”
In the podcast, there was also a famous exchange between then captain Rohit Sharma and Gill ahead of India’s 2023 ODI series against Sri Lanka. In the original video, Ishan Kishan had taken a humorous dig at Rohit for being left out of the playing XI despite scoring a historic double century against Bangladesh in December 2022.
As Rohit asked him why he is not playing and sitting out for three matches despite scoring 200 runs, Kishan humorously replied, “Bhaiya yeh to aap bataoge, captain toh aap na, (You say brother because you are the captain)” Rohit and Gill were in shock, and the trio had a fun moment.
Will Ishan Kishan open in the World Cup?
Kishan will be in action for India’s opening match against the United States in the upcoming 2026 T20 World Cup on 7 February 2026.
It is being told that he will start the innings with the form he is in.
