Team India wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan broke into the top 10 in the latest update of the ICC men’s T20I batting rankings on Wednesday, February 18. Left-handed batsman Ishan Kishan burst into the top 10 after his explosive match-winning performance against Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in Colombo.
Left-handed batsman Ishan Kishan scored 61 runs in 24 balls against Namibia and followed it up with 77 runs in 40 balls against Pakistan. India, under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, has already secured qualification for the Super 8 stage. Kishan will now aim to maintain this momentum in the remaining matches of the ICC tournament.
Ishan Kishan enters top 10; Abhishek Sharma’s dominance continues
Ishan Kishan has been the biggest gainer in the latest rankings update, jumping 17 places to eighth among T20I batsmen. He has emerged as one of the most destructive opening batsmen in the current tournament.
Ishan Kishan’s teammate Abhishek Sharma remains at the No. 1 spot in the T20I batting rankings. Despite being out for zero against Pakistan, Sharma remains on top with 917 rating points. Due to stomach upset, he could not even play in the match against Namibia.
Tilak Verma reached fourth place in the world with 751 rating points. Meanwhile, South Africa captain Aiden Markram moved up to number 15 after his match-winning innings of 86 runs in 44 balls against New Zealand. Also Suryakumar Yadav is at number 6 position.
Pakistan’s Saim Ayub overtakes Sikandar Raza for No. 1 all-rounder spot
Pakistan’s Saim Ayub overtook Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza to take the No. 1 spot in the all-rounder rankings. With the ball, Ayub took important wickets and finished with figures of 3/25 against India in Colombo. Raza has now slipped to second place in the all-rounder rankings.
Raza recently became the first Zimbabwean to reach the No. 1 spot in the ICC ODI all-rounder rankings earlier this season.
Nepal’s Deependra Singh Airi and Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai are currently ranked No. 4 in the T20I all-rounder rankings. India’s Hardik Pandya moved up three places to third place, while Shivam Dubey jumped into the top 10.
Arshdeep Singh falls out of top 10 as Varun Chakraborty remains on top
The bowling rankings also saw notable movements. India’s premier left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has dropped five places to 16th in the latest T20I bowling rankings.
Despite taking important wickets in the opening group matches against USA and Namibia, Arshdeep suffered a bit of a slump.
Meanwhile, mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy has retained the No. 1 spot in the T20I bowling rankings. With 776 rating points, Chakravarthy maintains a slight lead over Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan.
Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel are ranked 14th and 15th respectively. Mahesh Theekshana moved up two places to 13th and Australia’s Adam Zampa and Nathan Ellis moved up one place each to 8th and 11th respectively. Zimbabwe’s Brad Evans entered the top 10 after his team’s historic win over Australia.
