Ishan Kishan broke the record of fastest half-century by playing a brilliant innings against Pakistan.

As Indian cricket fans are saying on social media platforms, Pakistan was ready for Abhishek Sharma, but Ishan Kishan was out of the syllabus.

After Abhishek Sharma’s dismissal, Kishan created a ruckus at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The Jharkhand-born player registered the fastest half-century ever in the history of the India-Pakistan rivalry on the evening of 15 February.

This was the fastest half-century so far in an India vs Pakistan match. In the process, the keeper-batsman overtook the previous record holders in the list. He catapulted himself to the top, leaving behind Iftikhar Ahmed, Misbah-ul-Haq, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir.

In 2022, Ahmed completed his half-century in 32 balls; Misbah needed 33 balls to do this in 2007. Before Ishan Kishan, Virat Kohli was holding the record of scoring the fastest half-century by an Indian cricketer against Pakistan. Kohli had achieved this feat in 2016 while facing 36 balls. Presently the head coach of Team India, Gautam Gambhir scored a half-century in 38 balls in 2007.
