Ishan Kishan is ready for a big comeback, and this time, it is not with the Bharat National Cricket Team but as the leader of his state. Cereet Kishan has been out of the Indian team for almost two years, but he has now got a chance to return to the big stage.
Youth wicketkeeper-Better has been handed over the captaincy of Jharkhand for the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2025-26 seasons.

On September 27, the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) Selection Committee announcement has once again prepared a platform for Kishan to prove itself.

Kishan’s journey in the last few months is full of failures. After a promising tenure in the IPL 2025 season, he failed to maintain his form and then traveled to England in June to play two matches for Nottinghamshire at the County Championship.
For Nottinghamshire, the left -handed batsman impressed with two solid half -centuries, but he suffered an untimely injury. The injury not only excluded him from India’s plans for the tour of England, but also forced him to remember the Dalip Trophy, where he was named the captain of the East Zone.

Now, Ishaan is completely cured and is keen to return to action, as it will lead the Jharkhand team in the upcoming Ranji Trophy. He will also be the primary wicketkeeper of Jharkhand, while Virat Singh will be the deputy of Ishaan in India’s major Red-Ball tournament.
The 16-Comestical Squad includes spin all-rounder Anukulu Roy and wicketkeeper-Baitter Kumar Kushagra and Aryaman Singh among the promising talents. Jharkhand will close its Ranji Trophy campaign on 15 October against a combined Tamil Nadu side in the group’s platform.

The match will return to Kishan’s competitive cricket after a break of about three and a half months. For Kishan, the upcoming Ranji season is more than just one more tournament, as this is his biggest chance to remind the selectors of his skills and leadership to regain his location of India.

Meanwhile, Kishan last played for India in 2023. He was part of India’s squad for the test series against South Africa, but he chose a letter to BCCI, citing mental health concerns in a letter. Kishan has scored 78 runs in 2 Tests so far for India.
In one -day international, the Indian wicketkeeper has scored 933 runs in 27 matches at an impressive average of 42.40, including a century and seven half -centuries. At the T20 internationally, Ishaan has scored 796 runs in 32 matches with the help of 6 fifties.
At the domestic level, Kishan has scored 3,611 runs in 60 first -class matches at an average of 38.82. He has scored 3,798 runs in 111 List-A matches, while he has scored 5,270 runs in 202 T20 matches.
