Ishaan Kishan gets serious trouble before Asia Cup 2025

The East Zone suffered a blow before the Dalip Trophy 2025 as Captain and wicketkeeper-son Ishan Kishan was forbidden to hurt. 20-year-old Odisha wicketkeeper Ashirvad Swain has been nominated as his replacement ahead of the struggle against North Zone in a six-team tournament.

The injury stopped him from joining Team India when Rishabh Pant fractured his toe in the fourth Test against England. Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper Narayan Jagadisin was called as a cover, and Dhruv Juraral painted at the conclusion of the series.

Kishan, who was named captain of the East Zone, will now remember the six-team tournaments starting in Bangalore on August 28. He scored 77 runs at number six in his final competitive match for Nottinghamshire from 29 June to 2 July.

Ashirvad Swain is called the replacement of Ishaan Kishan in the eastern region

Odisha’s 20-year-old wicketkeeper-botter Ashirvad Swain has been nominated for the Dalip Trophy in the East Zone Squad, replacing Ishan Kishan, whose absence has not been officially confirmed.

The Odisha Cricket Association announced the selection of Swain on social media. He will join fellow Odia player Sandeep Pattanik, while Swastik Samal is named as Standby.

Swain, who started his first class in January 2024, has played 11 matches, scoring an average of 30.75, including three half -centuries. He has also excelled in age-group cricket.

Abhimanyu Ezvaran appointed East Zone captain in Kishan’s absence

Bengal opener Abhimanyu Ezavaran has been appointed as the captain of the East Zone Squad for the Dalip Trophy. The 29-year-old, the first vice-captain, has submitted 7,841 runs in 103 first-class matches, on an average 48.70 and 27 centuries and 31 half-centuries.

Ezavaran was part of India’s Test Squad against England, but he did not get a chance to play and he has not yet started his international start.

The East Zone will launch its campaign against the North Zone in the first qualifier on August 28 at the BCCI Center of Excellence Ground in Bengaluru on August 28. The winner will face the south region in the semi -finals at the same place starting on 4 September.
