Mustafizur Rahman, one of his BPL team Rangpur Riders teammates Nurul Hasan Sohan has praised the Bangladesh pacer’s calm and balanced attitude despite the internal turmoil and disappointment following the KKR IPL defeat.
India-Bangladesh political tensions, religious intolerance in the nation of Bangladesh and anti-Bangladesh campaign in India have completely affected the game of cricket. Over the past few years, India’s geopolitical issues have affected the game to a great extent.
As a result of this major controversy between the two countries, the BCCI ordered the removal of Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman, who was included in the KKR camp after a bid of Rs 9.2 crore in the mini-auction. Following the expulsion, the BCB has strongly condemned the steps taken by the Indian board to quell political anger in the country.
Mustafizur Rahman’s excellent performance continues in BPL
Before the mini-auction, Mustafizur Rahman was playing for Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 2025-26 in Abu Dhabi. He played 8 matches for the franchise and took 15 wickets at an excellent average and economy of 8.08.
Seeing his excellent form, KKR bought him for a huge price after an intense bidding war with Chennai Super Kings. Rahman had earlier taken 65 wickets in 60 matches in the IPL.
In the last game against Dhaka Capitals, a brilliant last over spell from Mustafizur Rahman helped the Riders win the match by just 5 runs. Mustafizur took 1/23 from his four overs in Sylhet. He made a strong start to BPL with 2/19 against Chattogram and then his form continued and he managed to take 7 wickets in 4 matches in this BPL.
Teammate gives important update on Mustafizur Rahman after IPL failure
Mustafizur Rahman’s teammate at Rangpur Riders, Nurul Hasan Sohan has provided an update on the cricketer’s mental condition, claiming that he is largely unaffected by the humiliation but signs of disappointment after missing out on a big opportunity are evident.
“For us, Mustafiz is a world-class bowler. He has been proving this for a long time. Everyone has faith in him. There is nothing more to say about him; everyone is always impressed,” Sohan said in the post-match conference.
He said that the seamer is feeling relaxed, but obviously a little disappointed, because he deserves what he has right now. But this has not affected his focus and he is absolutely fine.
Sohan concluded, “Mustafiz may feel bad. He always dreams of giving his best for Bangladesh. I feel like he is calm.”
ICC had to change the schedule after BCB’s ultimatum for T20 World Cup.
The BCB has informed the ICC of its decision not to travel to India for the ICC T20 World Cup under any circumstances. They have asked to shift their match venues to Sri Lanka like Pakistan.
Following the ultimatum, the ICC has been forced to consider the proposal, and according to a report in the Indian Express, they are drafting a revised schedule that aims to hold Bangladesh’s matches in Sri Lanka on the same dates.
Under the initial schedule, Bangladesh was to play three of its four group stage matches at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata and the last group stage match in Mumbai. However, the recent announcements have put the ICC and BCCI in trouble.
