Team India’s fast bowler Mohammad Siraj made a big statement about his role in the team after winning the T20 World Cup 2026. Siraj’s suddenly viral comment after the big win over New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday caught everyone’s attention on social media.

Under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, India created history by winning the final against New Zealand by 96 runs. The Men in Blue defended a mammoth total of 255 runs. It became the first team to win two consecutive T20 World Cups. Notably, they also became the first team to win the T20 World Cup on home soil.

Speaking about his unexpected inclusion in the World Cup-winning squad, the fast bowler expressed immense gratitude for getting this big opportunity.

Siraj said after the match, “Everything is God’s plan. I was not even a part of this team earlier, but God wrote the script, sent me here and made me the champion. No one can erase his script. Everything is God’s plan.”

Despite a stellar performance in the opening game, Mohammed Siraj was ruled out for the rest of the matches due to a team combination. Reflecting on their duties outside the boundary line, he said the reserve players bring drinks and maintain a positive atmosphere.

Mohammed Siraj said that being left out of the playing eleven in the World Cup can be disappointing for any top athlete. However, the star bowler said individual milestones did not matter as the management combination ultimately secured the trophy.

“But when the team decided on a certain combination and we had to sit out, we accepted it because the team is more important than any individual goal. Whatever the team thinks is best for the team, we support it. So it feels really good.”

New Zealand won the toss and chose bowling in the T20 World Cup final. The defending champions scored a mammoth total of 255/5 in 20 overs. Sanju Samson scored 89 runs in 46 balls, while Ishan Kishan (54 off 25 balls) and Abhishek Sharma (52 off 21 balls) scored important runs.

New Zealand struggled during the chase and were all out for 159 runs in 19 overs. Tim Seifert top scored with 52 off 26 balls, but the rest of the batting unit failed to build a partnership. India continued to take wickets at regular intervals, with Jasprit Bumrah taking four wickets and Axar Patel taking three.
