Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has said that if Lucknow Super Giants wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran continues his poor form in this season of the Indian Premier League, he may lose his place in the LSG playing eleven.
Lucknow Super Giants have not been in good form in this edition of the competition and the main reason for this is that their batsmen are not in good form. Pooran, Markram, Marsh and Rishabh Pant, the four big names, have all struggled to perform to the best of their ability.
“Don’t even have a strike rate of 100,” Irfan Pathan’s brutal dig at LSG batsman
The former Indian all-rounder said that dynamic left-handed batsman Nicholas Pooran is either in poor health or has mental problems. He also said that the return of Josh Inglis will be a big concern for him.
“100 ka bhi strike rate nahi hai (His strike rate is not even 100). He is not scoring runs at all. He batted at No. 3 last year, but now he has been sent down the order. Secondly, his foot gets frozen quickly. That’s why he is not in form. More than technique, I think the problem is in the mind, or there is some health issue. One of these two things is troubling Nicholas Pooran,” Irfan Pathan said. Said on his YouTube channel.
“If he doesn’t sort it out quickly he could be in trouble because Josh Inglis is a very good player and there will be pressure on Nicholas Pooran when he joins the camp,” he said. Puran could score only 41 runs in 4 innings while batting at a disappointing strike rate of 85.41.
“He is a monster against spinners,” Irfan Pathan surprises everyone with his latest opinion on the RCB skipper
Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan said that RCB captain Rajat Patidar is in great form against the spinners. He hailed him as a monster when facing spin bowling.
“Rajat Patidar is batting at a strike rate of over 200. He is also hitting three sixes an over against the spinners. If you consider yourself a gangster, he is a monster against the spinners,” he said.
He then added, “Rajat Patidar’s strength is that he stands strong and has a very good base. He doesn’t use his legs much and is not a player who will step out and hit. Can Digvesh Rathi invite him to play more on the front foot? Not too forward, but invite him in such a way that he cannot hit directly and has to go across.”
Irfan Pathan is excited to watch the match between Mohammed Shami and Virat Kohli
The RCB vs LSG match will be a crucial game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, where two Indian legends Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami will clash in a high-voltage contest. Irfan Pathan is excited to see Shami’s outswinger and Kohli is trying to counter it.
Pathan claimed, “Virat Kohli scored 50 runs in the last match but was a bit disappointed after getting out. It means he wants to improve even after scoring a half-century. He wants to improve the strike rate. Mohammed Shami is in very good form and has bowled just one bad over.”
Pathan further revealed how Shami can now bowl full balls at will and how the RCB legend can counter the swing by taking guard at the middle stump.
He said, “Shami gets late movement, but now he has started something new. He rotates his wrist to bowl outswingers. That means he can bowl outswingers at will. Virat Kohli will be aware of this. Can he stand on middle and off stump to counter that swing? Mohammed Shami is likely to bowl one or two full balls to drive up.”
