Former Team India all -rounder Irfan Pathan has opened the possibility of playing a coaching role with the national cricket team in the future. The cricketer-turn-commentator also revealed that the player gets a lot of satisfaction by being involved in the development and witness to development.
Pathan represented the Indian cricket team from 2003 to 2012. He was part of the squad that won the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa. Pathan played 29 Tests, 120 Odis and 24 T20 Internationals. He scored 2,821 runs in formats with bat. Left -handed pacer took 301 wickets with the ball.

Irfan Pathan expressed his interest in playing the role of India’s head coach in the future. Speaking to Revsports, Pathan said that he wants to see development within the team as a coach.

Pathan said, “I would like to share something here, that I really liked John Wright’s coaching style. When I first came to the Indian team, he used to work very hard, worked very hard, tightened everyone, included a lot among other things,” Pathan said.
“I have seen better in the technical terms of coaching, but their style is something else. It was all about the players, was managing everything from behind. The whole thing used to give me a lot of enthusiasm. So, yes, in the future, when the time comes, why not? Why not? It would be to make sure,” he said.
