Ireland have appointed Gary Wilson as the new head coach

Cricket Ireland has appointed former Ireland captain Gary Wilson as the new head coach of the Ireland national cricket team following the team’s historic T20I series win over India.

The move comes after Ireland head coach Henrique Malan resigned following their 2-0 T20 series win against India at home.

Gary Wilson takes over as Ireland’s new head coach

With this appointment, Wilson becomes the first Irish-born coach to take charge of the Ireland men’s team since John Wills held the position more than 30 years ago. It is a proud moment for Irish cricket, with a home-grown coach now leading the national team.
