Two former Indian cricketers, Left-Army Seemar RP Singh and Left-Arm Spinner Pragyan Ojha are among the strongest members, who have applied for an vacant slot in the Ajit Agkar-led BCCI selection committee.
The Indian Cricket Board has to see some changes in its administration from the upcoming season. Many new faces may soon be seen within the BCCI selector panel, as two former selectors stepped down from their positions as the choice of Subroto Banerjee and S. Sharath.
The committee is currently headed by former Indian speedster Ajit Agrakar, whose contract has been further enhanced. While these new appointments will be held around the annual general meeting of the board, if it is held on 28 September.

Pragan Ojha and RP Singh apply for the role of national selectors
Two former Indian cricketers, Pragana Ojha and Rudra Pratap Singh, popularly known as RP Singh, have been tied up to become the new member of the Senior Selection Committee, led by Ajit Agarkar.
For two vacant posts, BCCI called to apply last month. As learned through the Indian Express, the board received lukewarm response from the famous former international cricketers.
Former Indian captain Praveen Kumar was the only known person to apply for the role of a national selector. Apart from that, two others who applied were Paper Ashish Winston Zaidi and Shakti Singh of Himachal Pradesh in the past.
Criteria set by BCCI for the position of the selector
According to the Indian board requirements, the applicant should have played a minimum of seven Test matches or 30 first -class matches or 10 Odis, and 20 first -class matches. With these, the applicant should have retired from the game at least 5 years before the application time.
RP Singh announced his retirement in 2018, while Pragan Ojha announced his retirement in February 2020. Another major criterion was that the applicant should not have been a member of any BCCI cricket committee for a five -year committee.
After all these criteria, former Indian cricketer RP Singh, who from 2005–11 from 2005-11, had 14 Tests, 58 Odis and 10 T20 E, and Pragana Ojha, which were shown in 24 Tests, 18 Odis and 6 T20s for India, the most ideal pics were played.
To interview CAC candidates and choose BCCI office-bearrs
According to the procedure, the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), including Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjpe, and Sulakshman Naik, has been entrusted with the responsibility of shortlisting candidates for two posts in the Senior Men’s Selection Committee.
They will interview them and shortlists two most suitable candidates from the detailed pool of applicants. The CAC will then be recommended to the names of the candidates selected to the BCCI office-bearrs, who will then proceed to approve the recommendation of the CAC.
These two new selectors are expected to take charge from next month.
