Arjun Tendulkar’s limited prospects at MI lead to trading decision
Arjuna, son of the great Sachin TendulkarMade his IPL debut in 2023 but struggled to find consistent playing time with Mumbai Indians the following season.
During his stint with MI, Arjun played five matches and took three wickets while showing glimpses of promise with the ball. However, he had to spend most of the last two seasons on the bench due to stiff competition within Mumbai’s pace attack.
With the opportunity running out, MI sold Arjun to LSG for Rs 30 lakh. The transfer was confirmed before the IPL 2026 retention deadline.
Arjun is ready for a fresh start at LSG
Arjun’s move to LSG is widely seen as a significant career reset. Lucknow, known for its well-structured bowling plans and strong developmental system, could provide the necessary platform for Arjun to develop into a reliable fast bowling all-rounder.
LSG’s dynamic regime, supported by experienced coaches and a balanced team, is expected to provide Arjun with more game time and experience. Cricket experts like Aakash Chopra and Mohammad Kaif believe that the move could prove beneficial for both the player and the franchise:
- better playing opportunities
- Access to a strong mentorship group
- The opportunity to work within a strategic, data-driven coaching approach
With IPL teams increasingly investing in young Indian fast bowlers, Arjun’s progress next season could be crucial in defining his long-term T20 career.
