One of those big rumors concerns India star Sanju Samson, who is currently the captain of Rajasthan Royals. Reports say that the wicketkeeper-batsman will join five-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings, while experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will go the other way.

The deals were officially confirmed by both franchises on Saturday morning. Along with Jadeja, Sam Curran has also moved from Chennai to Rajasthan Royals. Ahead of the auction, all teams are set to release and retain several players as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the next season.

Andre Russell released:

Experienced all-rounder Andre Russell has been released by Kolkata Knight Riders. This is one of the most high-profile releases in the history of IPL. Russell was with the Kolkata-based organization since 2014. He was one of the five players retained by KKR ahead of the 2025 mega auction.
