IPL 2026: Fans go crazy as Rajasthan Royals beat Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati

Rajasthan Royals (RR) put in an impressive performance to defeat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Defeated by 8 wickets in match 3 of ipl 2026 At Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. Winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Rajasthan executed their plans perfectly and restricted CSK to a modest score and then chased down the target with ease.

The match never reached competitive balance, as Rajasthan controlled the proceedings from the start. Their bowlers demolished CSK’s batting lineup and the batsmen ensured that there was no trouble during the chase.

This comprehensive win not only gives Rajasthan early momentum in the tournament but also raises serious concerns for CSK, who were struggling in all departments.

CSK’s downfall due to the havoc of RR bowlers.

Electing to bat first, CSK faced a nightmare and were bowled out for just 127 runs in 19.4 overs. The innings never gained momentum as wickets fell at regular intervals.

Sanju Samson, playing as a batsman, showed brief resistance by scoring 67 runs, but he lacked support from the rest of the lineup. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad struggled to find rhythm and could only score 6 runs, while other batsmen failed to make meaningful contributions.

Rajasthan’s bowling attack was relentless. Jofra Archer struck early, removing key batsmen and setting the tone. Nandre Berger supported him brilliantly, taking important wickets and maintaining the pressure.

Spinners also played an important role. Ravi Bishnoi and Ravindra Jadeja ensured that CSK never built partnerships, disrupting the run flow in the middle overs.

Despite a late cameo from Jamie Overton, CSK failed to recover, ending up with a subpar score that always looked inadequate on a good batting surface.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi lead RR in easy chase

Chasing 128, RR made light work of the target, Ended at 128/2 in just 12.1 overs. The chase was defined by aggressive intent and smart shot selection.

Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal led the innings with an unbeaten 38 and ensured stability at the top. However, the real fireworks came from Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who smashed CSK’s bowling attack with a brilliant inning of 52 runs off just 17 balls.

The duo stitched a quickfire 75-run partnership that effectively sealed the match in the powerplay phase. Their aggressive approach put CSK on the backfoot early on, leaving little room for a comeback.

Although CSK managed to take two wickets thanks to Anshul Kamboj, the damage was already done. Captain Riyan Parag completed the chase calmly with Jaiswal ensuring there were no late turns.
