Notice issued to three DDCA officials amid IPL 2026

According to Dainik Jagran report, “Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has issued a legal notice to three officials, including DDCA Secretary Ashok Sharma, in the case of black marketing of complimentary passes and tickets for franchise league matches. DDCA CEO RR Singh and his personal assistant Rakesh Singh have been asked to join the investigation on Thursday.”

The claim further said, “They have been asked to be present at the Crime Branch office in Shakarpur at 10 am at any cost. Both of them will be extensively interrogated there. They will be interrogated separately and then face to face. A general notice has been sent to DDCA Secretary Ashok Sharma.”

Delhi Police caught many during investigation

A few days ago, Delhi Police arrested four people from outside the Arun Jaitley Stadium for allegedly selling complimentary IPL match passes and premium tickets. Further investigation revealed that the black market for tickets was run by a syndicate.

Those accused of illegally selling tickets used to present themselves as a corporation to gain the trust of common visitors. The event supplied premium-priced category tickets at high prices. The whole process can go on through live betting or betting operations inside the stadiums, or even through pickpocketing and other aggressive activities.

DCP (Crime Branch) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav further said that the accused were involved in black marketing of IPL tickets across India and used to travel by air to various cities where IPL matches were held.

“They allegedly purchased tickets and complimentary passes through various persons. The role of others associated with this syndicate is also being investigated. They also provided premium tickets at exorbitant prices to people involved in online live betting/satta operations inside the stadium as well as to pickpockets and other criminal elements,” Yadav told The Indian Express in his brief.

Yadav further said, “To gain credibility and woo cricket fans, the accused misrepresented themselves as authorized representatives of the cricket administration and event management authority. They are currently in police remand, and further investigation is underway to identify others involved in the purchase and illegal sale of tickets.”

Earlier registered cases are also under investigation

He said that cases related to such criminal activities and ticket black marketing have already been registered against the accused in many states including Delhi, Punjab and Haryana. Even during an Auto Expo event he was accused of ticket black marketing.

DCP Yadav said, “It is also revealed that criminal cases related to ticket black marketing were earlier registered against him in Delhi, Punjab and Haryana. A case of ticket black marketing during the Auto Expo in Faridabad was also registered against him.”
