Ahead of one of the biggest festivals of cricket β Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026), fans have got another big news, as the International Masters League is returning to India for its second season.
After a hugely successful first season of the International Masters League, the tournament is set to return with more famous names and more classic cricket action.
The first season of the Indian Premier League was a hit, India Masters became the champion.
The inaugural season had already created quite a stir, with some of the biggest names in world cricket entertaining fans again.
All-time greats like Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Shane Watson, Yuvraj Singh, Chris Gayle and Kumar Sangakkara were part of the first edition of the tournament.

India Masters won the first season, with the league becoming the second most watched men’s T20 competition in India and reaching 246 million viewers across television and digital platforms. That strong response has now paved the way for a second season.
International Masters League is set to make a grand return in 2026
Organizers have announced that the second edition of the International Masters League will be held from October 24 to November 14, with matches to be played across three Indian cities β Mumbai, Vadodara and Visakhapatnam.
Like the first edition, the upcoming season will also see six franchise teams battling for the trophy. These six teams will be from India, Australia, South Africa, West Indies, England and Sri Lanka. Hence, fans are all set to witness memorable moments on the field.

The full schedule, team squads and ticket details are expected to be announced in the coming months. But the return of IML has already created excitement among the fans.
Sunil Gavaskar promises big entertainment in International Masters League Season 2
Meanwhile, league commissioner Sunil Gavaskar believes that the massive success of the first season has clearly shown that fans still have huge love for the former giants. The former Indian captain believes that the second season will be even more exciting and entertaining for the fans.
Gavaskar mentioned how fans will be able to see their favorite legends in action once again. The great batsman has emphasized that his main aim now is to make the next edition even better and memorable for the fans than the first edition.
Sunil Gavaskar said in an official statement: “Season 1 of the IML has confirmed that the magic of cricket’s greatest icons has resonated deeply with fans. As we return for Season 2, the focus is on enhancing that experience, with more competition, more unforgettable moments and the same enduring passion for the game. Fans are looking forward to seeing their heroes back in action, and I am confident that this will be another truly memorable edition of the tournament.”
Before the event, many veterans will be seen on commentary duty in the upcoming Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) starting from March 28 in Bengaluru.
